In the rest of the world where personal computing is not that common of a thing, internet cafes are a popular service to the public. Here in America, however, internet cafes are rare and usually only seen around colleges or universities and are more of a hangout where people bring their own laptops and buy coffee to do homework, rather than being used as a resource.

Either way - the internet cafes in the rest of the world serve not only as a fashionable place where you can eat, drink and play, they are also a valuable resource for most people who do not have the luxury of a personal computer or laptop. Most internet cafes will charge you for usage on the time you spend. Some do it by minutes, some do it by hours, but usually the rates can vary from about $2 per hour to $5 per hour. Most internet cafes have a wireless network, but you will be asked to buy something if you are trying to hang out around the cafe and hitch a ride for free on their network with your laptop.
