internet cafes, gourmet coffee

One of the great joys of the modern era is being able to visit Internet cafes to surf the net via Wi-Fi while partaking of one's favorite gourmet coffee. However, as more and more businesses go under in response to shrinking business and an economy in recession, I wonder how many of them will continue to provide free Wi-Fi or wired Internet connections. I know that a lot of businesses are looking for ways to cut costs, and it may be that some Internet cafes go back to being just regular cafes because they have decided to eliminate their free wireless Internet access so that the attraction won't be free Wi-Fi, but the gourmet coffee and tea they provide, or the quality of the sandwiches they sell. On the other hand, it could be that Internet cafes have become so much a part of modern society that they'll never truly go away even as they stop being free. Perhaps the new model for the Internet cafe will be to charge a small surcharge for Internet usage to offset the cost of providing it. I don't really know what will happen, but I look forward with interest to seeing the changes in Internet cafes in the coming year or two.
