internet cafes, gourmet coffee
If you are concerned about the American economy, here's a simple, common-sense suggestion that you can follow to help the local economy. When you go out for that gourmet coffee or espresso coffee in Internet cafes, then try to always patronize local businesses. Because when you patronize your local Internet cafes and get your gourmet coffee at local coffeehouses and restaurants that are not part of a chain, then you are ensuring that the money you spend will stay within your community, helping local merchants pay their rent and keep your fellow citizens employed. Friday, November 28th is known as "Buy Nothing Day." It's an effort to turn people's thinking away from mindless consumerism. But I think a better alternative is "Buy Local" and not just for one day, but all year round, and as much as you can. So go out those Internet cafes, buy a gourmet coffee or a bag of coffee beans, but always try to do those things dealing with local businesses. It's the smart way to help keep your community strong economically.
